Siida Museum & Arctic Nature Tour
Service Description
This private tour starts with pickup from your accommodation in Saariselkä or Ivalo. On our way to the village of Inari, in the heart of the Sámi homeland, you’ll enjoy views of Lake Inari, one of Lapland’s most iconic landscapes. At the Sámi Museum Siida, discover the rich cultural heritage of the Sámi people and learn more about the unique nature of Northern Lapland. Named European Museum of the Year in 2024, Siida brings Sámi history and the Arctic environment to life through its world-class exhibitions. Your guide will accompany you through the museum and help you explore the exhibitions. While in Inari, we’ll visit the beautiful Jäniskoski Rapids, where a short walk through the forest leads to the Juutuanjoki River and its suspension bridge. There, we’ll prepare a light outdoor lunch over an open fire, surrounded by peaceful Arctic scenery. Included - Pickup and drop-off at your accommodation in Saariselkä or Ivalo - Private guide and transportation - Admission to the Sámi Museum Siida - Light outdoor lunch and hot drinks Important information - Transportation and guiding are provided exclusively for your group, although other visitors may be present at Siida and Jäniskoski. - Your private guide will accompany you during the museum visit. An official one-hour guided tour led by a Siida guide can be arranged in advance, subject to availability. The additional cost is €130 per group from Monday to Saturday and €165 per group on Sundays and public holidays. - The tour usually lasts approximately 4–6 hours, depending on the pickup location and how long your group wishes to spend at Siida and Jäniskoski. You do not need to decide the duration in advance. The pace and time spent at each location can be adjusted during the day according to your group’s preferences. - The tour includes a short outdoor walk on a trail that may be snowy or uneven. Please wear warm, weather-appropriate clothing and suitable footwear. - Please inform us of any dietary requirements or allergies when booking.
